The Bump ;(

A little video documentation of my poor baby's boo boo (who's obviously oblivious that anything 'wrong' happened to him today) and a guilty mommy's commentation.
(video removed because it was jacked up. i'll post it again later if it works out)
Has your child ever fallen from YOUR shopping cart?
peace. I will still watch for bad signs but think we are ok. ;( I know i'm not a bad mom but this definitely doesn't make you feel good.

thursday last
thursday last, i was getting ready for work, taking care of evan and feeling slightly meloncoly about evan's last day with his babysitter liz (also my friend and is having her 2nd baby - hopefully sooner rather than later lol. she'll agree). i gave him a bath and noticed that my very capable and independant husband had put his conditioner outside of the shower to be refilled. uncharacteristic of me, i thought what i nice thing it would be for him if i filled it up for him. while i'm at it, i might as well fill his shampoo too as a double surprise! :)
feeling good about myself and my good deed, giggling a little about what he'd think when he found out, i was off to work.
i was late, client waiting groaning to myself cause i can't seem to get it together lately. i was unlocking and opening the door as i addressed my patiently waiting client when i noticed something on my mirror... a little white paper heart, stuck to my mirror. :) i immediately called michael to tell him we had a problem. apparently 'someone' had broke into my shop and left me a heart on my mirror. i told him i think it is the maintenence guys and we should write a complaint. :D of course he thought that was 'cute' of me to pretend like i didn't know it was him. he he. it was sweet. he said he'd stopped by and since i wasn't there, he left me a little heart. it was perfect and helped me have an extra special day. thank you babe. i love you ;) xoxo

FIRST HAIR CUT

Are you seriously gonna make me do this mom?

"The first cut is the deepest"

Everyone reads at the beauty shop, right?

Checking for symmetry...

Making sure my baby still loves me. Well, he loves my hair at least. Let go kid! 8)

All done! Perfect. Still long but not a mullet and best part... The curls are still there! ;)
Front view...

I had it all planned out, I was going to do Evan's first haircut at mommy's salon "Lila's Chop Shop". We would take pictures and it would be perfect, birds chirping, sun shining, kittens frolicking, ya know, the norm.... only.. the weather was great, birds chirping (no kittens that I noticed) but NO CHOP SHOP!! :*(. It seriously bugs me but it's over, I had to cut his hair before family pictures with Shannon Hairr so I did it in my kitchen while Mike was photographer (while watching the UT game, hence Evan's awesome outfit) with cheap free scissors from a clipper set I bought years ago and Evan's "Safety First" comb! YIKES. On behalf of all professional hairstylists everywhere, I am sorry. SO sorry! :( Anyway, he is an absolute DOLL and his haircut (done on his 13month birthday) came out great despite the circumstances. Mike kept the camera on B & W on accident so sorry if the pictures seem morbid. I don't usually let him use the camera in my control freakishness. lol. He did a pretty good job considering. ;) When we get our pictures back from Shannon, we will proudly display one or two for your viewing pleasure. She was very patient with us, walking from place to place as she is pretty pregnant right now with #2 so, we hope we didn't make her ankles swell or anything when we traipsed though the train tracks etc. ;)
mine and evans first preds game of the season!

Signs and other communications

last sunday at church, having a snack during sacrament meeting.

My contant view lately. He's always climbing up on us, requesting to be held (closest thing I get to cuddling from my little 'wild cat').

First 'boo boo' (a cut) from I think our metal trash can? I'm a great mom. lol. He was crawling all over while I was cleaning or doing laundry no doubt (as if!) and he was getting cranky so I put him in his bed for a nap. He was totally mad at that so when I went in to see what his major malfunction was, he was bleeding everywhere! I felt really bad but it was just some cuts on his pinky finger that washed up easily and didn't look bad till the scab showed up! THEN it looked horrible (poor liz probably documented it for cps). Anyway, this bandaid was a total annoyance to Evan and it didn't stay on long unfortunately.

Watching daddy mow and wishing he could be helping. If mommie knew how to drive the mower, she'd take Evan. Daddy = boring/cautious. Mommy = daredevil/cool. (my blog, my words :D)

Our kids big boy seat and facing forward. He didn't mind facing backwards but his feet were too long. Here he is in one of his favorite activities, tucking something (moms hair, blankets, clothes he's wearing etc) between his plug and his face while using the plug (pacifier).

The After Party

Ladies and Gentleman... I give you... "Pebbles and Bam Bam" (aka Annabelle and Evan)!

Can I be a Monkey instead?

A: Mom, what's he doin'?

E: Mom, what's she sayin'?
This is my friend Elizabeth, who also watches Evan currently. Her son Hayden is a monkey and Evan had squirmed out of Bam Bam by the end of Trunk or treat. lol. Liz is having her second baby boy in December so will not longer be watching him ;( but we are so happy she will be able to focus on her family more. We hope Evan has been a good boy for her, she has been a GREAT blessing to us. We thank you so much Liz and Hayden. We look forward to lots of play dates (maybe on my days off I can take Hayden for a couple hours so you can have Logen all to yourself :) ).
