Memorial for a friend...

This is a huge reason I post. Today is the one year anniversary of the death of a friend, Ginger who inspired me to post about my family and also others. Like me she was also one of 11 children and our families intertwined though our childhood years, including a time when Ginger dated one of my brothers for a time and I even did her hair. She is missed but her brother Jason and his wife posted her eulogy on their blog http://detmerfan.blogspot.com/2008/08/why-blog.html
I have been thinking a lot about her these past two months and even found myself wandering again to her family blog that she posted her last post, just the night before she died. It was a perfect post to reflect the love of a mother of her calling as such. http://jasondgingerd.blogspot.com/ . I am grateful I knew her and know her family. They are wonderful people of whom I look up to.
We miss you here on earth Ginger Dee. Thank you for caring for us from heaven. We love you.

Thank you for posting such a heartfelt sentiment. I never knew Ginger, but only through her blog, because of you. To this day, I have not forgotten her. She was truly special, especially to have touched my life with my family!
Hugs to you sugar!

I never knew Ginger, only read her blog through a link on yours. I bet she was pure joy on two feet. It seemed as though she was an incredible woman...full of charity and love. A true example to those around her. She inspired me to start documenting our life so that someday when I'm not here my children will be able to look back and read about growing up and the love that I have for them. What a blessing to all that knew Ginger, and those that didn't, to have her inspiring words still today.
Here's to Ginger.

I read her blog through yours, too, and can't believe it's been a year since she passed away. I hope her husband and kids are doing okay. I think of her a lot, too, even though I never knew her. Maybe because she was another Mormon mama, our age, with four kids...a lot like my life, and I try to live it better knowing it could end at any time.

Thanks for helping us all remember a special person!
