I was talking to Rachel A. about pediatricians and decided to ask you all some questions of which I'd appreciate your reply. Whether out of town or in town you can help. 1st Who is you're Pediatrician in town & why do you like him/her. 2nd Is there someone you DON'T recommend? (this can also be emailed so we're not 'bad mouthing' online please. lilastuteville@yahoo.com) 3rd what qualities should I look for in a trusted Dr for my child? All these questions from someone who still doesn't have a gynocologist (sp?) OR primary care Dr after living here 6 years! Feel free to recommend for that too. smile.

I take Caitlin to Morgan Pediatrics. Susan Morgan is AWESOME!!! I can't say enough good things about her. The other doctors there, all women, are all great too. As a first time mom, and not able to breast feed, I was feeling a little guilty and she sensed it and totally put me at ease. She has great advice for caring for your baby and parenting and they get older. If ever I am having a problem with discipline, I just give them a call. They are great!!
As I kind of mentioned before...the most important thing to ME about a pediatrician, or any doctor, is that they are willing to listen to you, and your concerns etc. not discount them because they're the dr and they know it all.
(you can set up a "meet and greet" with doctors before choosing them...i highly recommend this!)
We met with a few different pediatricians before we found ours (Dr. Chandler @ MMC). One made me feel dumb as a parent, obviously, I didn't pick him!
Dr. Chandler is very willing to listen to the parents. He is very informative, and gentle with the kids.Others in the same office are just as nice and helpful.
Ok we use Dr. Lowe. She's been our ped. since we moved here in 1997. I really like her. Dr. Chandler is in the same practice-he's great too and last one of my customers from awhile ago sweeetest man just moved into the practice Dr. Rosser. I loved his family when they used to come yearly.
I don't think you'll go wrong with most of the medical clinic peds.

I had Dr. Lowe also and I switched- I'll e-mail you. We see Dr. Gilbert-she's thorough, friendly , and has kids of her own, I'm never left hanging in the waiting room, you can always get an appt. for a sick child the same day, they have 2 offices (smyrna & m'boro), they also have several other doctors and physician asst.-all are great, staff is very friendly and patient!
