Our People! We are finally leaving Georgia! Agghhh... Don't get us wrong, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in GA, everyone was so nice and very happy for us wherever we went. Whether it was at the hospital, walking around 'Cobb Mall' or at the hotel's breakfast bar, everyone gave us well wishes and beamed at our newborn (much as I imagine all of you will do when you read this & see Evan yourself the first time. smile). So as we slept in, thanks to powdered formula (who knew?) as opposed to the liquid we've been using but ran out, Hannah left a 'gift' on our voicemail that we are good to go home! We packed our stuff took some pictures, prepared the baby and off we have went! Let's talk about what we will miss...
Having someone else pay the rent for a week! lol. Thank you again a million times Tara!
What we will miss is Courtney. We didn't visit but once after Evan was born because we we so busy getting adjusted but we love her so much.
Courtney, if you are reading this, you know you have changed our lives. We know that you are as excited for us as we are that you have given us such a gift. You have also given Evan the life you want him to have and with that, you have made you're first responsible decision on behalf of your child. We hope you will always feel proud of your choice. Your unselfish sacrifice effects everyone we know because a stranger has not passed our way without knowing how badly we wanted a family. Not a stranger has passed that hasn't prayed for us to get a baby and that also prayed for our potential birth mother to choose us. You chose us. In my prayers at night when I would plead to my Heavenly Father for our dream of having children to come true. I prayed that our birth mother would 'recognize' us when she saw us (be familiar to her) and we would also 'know' her when we saw her (we didn't want to
miss a thing) and since we first talked on the phone it is as if we Have recognized each other and always known each other. You said it best when we met in person the first time. You said it felt like a reunion and I told you that I believe we knew each other before we came to earth & somehow hatched this plan to help each other. We're so grateful our plan came together... We love you and look forward to seeing you again.
With that I will leave this posting to stare at my beautiful sleeping son and reminisce with Michael on what has just happened to us and what is next to come...

WELCOME HOME!!! - and to the rest of your lives....denise
Beautiful words to Courtney. You said exactly what I wish I could say to her. I love her for what she has done, and I know that she will always have a special place in our family. Just as her beautiful son will. :-)
Hey Lila
Congratulations to you and Michael.
Evan is gorgeous and why would he not be, he is madeof Gods Love.
I have read through the whole blog, watched the video's and I really felt like part of it.
You have such a way with words and your joy comes right through.
Courtney is wonderful, may God richly Bless her life as she goes forward on her journey to great things. To do what she has for whatever reasons could not have been easy but she knew when she met you both that Evan would be home.
Your family is blessed, the love you all have for each other is inspiring.
I love you lots and now Evan.
When you get used to it all and are less tired, like in 10yrs,lol I will look forward to your posts and pics of Evan.
God Bless and WELCOME EVAN.

Hi there! My name is Samantha and I go to Church with Deana here in Iowa. I too am an adoptive mom and just wanted to congratulate you on your new life. Adoption is such a wonderful journey! I think it helps me to be more grateful when I remember what a "gift" my child truly is, then I don't feel so tired or stressed out because I remember life without her! Congrats again, and if you ever want to vent, email me or something!

Hi Lila! My name is Tamara (Tami) and I'm good friends with Penny. I've been following along your journey over the years through her and more recentlr through your blog. I'm so happy & excited for you guys!!! I placed a baby for adoption in 98 and so your experience has really touched me. Your words to Courtney are really beautiful and it's such a blessing to have the connection that you do! It's so amazing to see the Lord's hand at work! Well, I just wanted to introduce myself, virtually at least ;) And wish your family the best! Welcome little baby Evan and Congratulations!!
tamara.
thank you for your comment especially. i love you for the gift you gave in 1998 and that you are friends with my beloved penny (isn't she amazing?). i don't know if you will read this comment in response to yours but i think you must be an amazing woman. partly made possible by your heroic choice when you were not yet ready to be a mother. i am amazed by you.
i hope everyone whether they know us or not will feel encouraged to keep coming back to our blog to share in our joys.
love to everyone.
Congrats you guys!
