Garth Brooks concert final report

We had a great time (despite the efforts of inebriated row mates) on our date and the kids loved being spoiled by Sam, Alex and Layne (sp?). Thank you ladies! I'm not really a 'concert' person but Michael loves all things concert, live sports and movies for that matter. He was able to go to the first show that was last week and last night was the last night. I am excited to hear how much money was raised for the Nashville flood victims. Some of the treats of the show was a woman held a huge hot pink sign announcing how far she drove to the concert so as he sang, he beckoned for her to come down and handed her a guitar pick. Well, that wasn't enough, he motioned for her to come back and he GAVE HER HIS WHOLE GUITAR!!! ugh! It was totally spontaneous and special to watch. After his encore song/s he left but came back alone to sing a few acoustic requests that were on signs then the band came out for one last "2 Margaritas" song (pretty sure that's not the name but it's the point of the song). It was even nice to walk out in the cold cold night cause it means Christmas is here. There is even a chance of snow on Christmas day fyi! That would be the coolest. So, thank you Michael for taking me on a date to the concert. (even though I didn't stand the whole time and complained a little about the drunk people).
On an unrelated note, I'd like to say CONGRATULATIONS to my friends Kyle and Amanda on the arrival of their first baby, son Easton born last night. :) I was going to go to her house this morning to take pregnancy pictures. ooops! Guess not! lol. xoxo
p.s. i think i'm caving to buy more space to show you pictures ;( boo.

LOVE STINKS!

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

So, Mike and I went to the Predators game last night (of which they WON!!) and Evan's friend Serif wanted he and Cora to come to play while we were out. Little did I know the reeeeeeeaaaal reason Serif's parents wanted to babysit. They Tattooed him! :D LOL. I literally JUST saw this even though we picked him up last night but he was already in p.j.s so... This morning I was holding him but had to put him down to make some breakfast when I saw the top of the sword. Only, I thought, "does he have a leaf on him?" or "Is that some sort of leach!?" ( i don't know why i went there but i did, ha ha ha!) As soon as I looked (carefully) down his shirt I instantly started busting out laughing!!!! I had Evan run in to show daddy while he was getting ready for work and he also loved it. :). Michelle and Jeff, that was the best surprise this morning, I'm still giggling and laughing as a type. I haven't checked Cora yet but did a photo shoot for her 6 month and didn't see anything. THAT would have been even more hilarious! :) Thank you for making my day. ha ha  ha ha ha ha... he he he he he he.....
(the tattoo says "love stinks". 'someone' didn't want me to take their picture right then. If i have time i'll take a better one later :))

Oakes Farm Weekend

This weekend myself and the kids went to Knoxville with my friend Amber and 2 of her boys. We visited with her sister Kacey whom I've only seen in person like 3 times (can you believe that?!) but it's as if we, like Amber and I, were meant to meet and be kindred spirits. We were only there for one full day and spent it with our kids and no husbands (maybe a treat for them, lol) at Oakes Farm in Corryton. It was a fun day of activities, great weather and relatively behaving children. :) Here are some pictures from the day...

This is my little stinker running this far away from me. He does love corn...maybe he was being called to "build it" so "they will come". (movie reference)

Amber and Kacey's riff-raff. Henry, Nathan, Oliver and Sam. I love Sam's 'belt' accessory (you may need to click to enlarge it).

Gotcha! ;)

Yes, I let my poor 2 year old go down this humongous slide! I only wish I was at the top to see if he thought twice about going down it but I felt the need to be the photographer instead.

He survived but was totally confused when he got out. lol. I'm a horrible mother. he he he

Smaller one that he did by himself but...

Mommy and Cora Grace came this time too! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee!

This was a great bouncy thing. Too bad there were so many big kids, Evan couldn't even stand up and gave up.

It's ok, there were plenty of gravel filled tires to climb up onto. :) lol.

Kid's sized corn maze made him very happy.

You've heard the phrase "stop and smell the corn husk" right?

In...

and up!

Start....

and finish!

Who needs the beach when you have a huge sand pit in the middle of a farm? ha ha ha.

All our boys together for the hayride. Evan sat by himself at the front the whole time (right behind the fumes. Yeah, mother of the year award is MINE!).

Look at these little lovebirds. They are just the sweetest sisters and their closeness shows. Thank you for letting me hang out with you girls. :)

Too cute of Sam, not to post of one him alone. muah!

Example of my good boy holding on so well.

Oh! There I am. Little C.G. looks like she's sucking her thumb. I temporarily tore Evan from his primo seat to get a photo op.

Done with the hayride, Amber and Henry took a turn at racing tractors. lol. I also did this with Evan but there were no witnesses. ha ha ha.

Look at that little face. Don't you just want to eat him up?

Amber hooked me up so I could have some evidence of being there too. C.G. didn't get much photo time since she was all strapped to me and all.

I love it! This picture makes me happy and I think MDS will love it too since it has his beautiful girls in the shot but there is rows and rows of his favorite... corn, in the back ground. Honey, wipe your mouth, you're drooling. he he he he.

Evan didn't quite cooperate here but Amber did her best to try.

peek a boo!

:)

At the end of the day, Evan was done listening...

He actually preferred to sit like that for a minute or so. Mom didn't like it.

So when we got back to Kacey's house, Evan decided to continue his mischief in their new puppy's kennel.

I considered leaving him in there... but I do love him so. :)

In closing. All the boys really loved baby Cora. They all took a turn saying something nice to and about here without being prompted so C.G. really got a big head about it. (We'll have a talk with her later. he he) We really did have a nice weekend thanks to our sweet pet sitters for being the best ones there are and for the house being clean when we got home (not anymore but it was nice for a moment).

You Ain't Nothin' but a hound dog...

My Name is Evan. My birthday is October 14th but my parents gave me a Sock Hop party today with some of my friends. I'll let my mama tell you the rest. :)...

First of all, I love his hair, it reminds me of the way my Dad's hair was styled in the *real* 50's, so that's for you dad. Yes he has 'side burns' that I made with eyeliner for fun. I have mixed feelings about whether I should have taken them off but we kept them and there you go. He's adorable and they are funny sideburns.

Unfortunatly we were going soooo crazy this morning that this is as close as you get of his whole ensamble (minus the leather jacket! rrrr) photographed but he was totally 50's. :)

Ok, it was actually sweet here because as soon as Evan got over his initial jealousy that Cora gets to inherit his car walker (he seems to remember it?), he was actually really nice to her and pushed her gently all around the room. She loved it. Then again, she loves all her time with her big bro.

The Decor seen through 'rose colored glasses". he he he.

I made this one big cause you may not see us together in a picture alone for a very long time. It's been two years since we even considered taking a photo alone together. ha ha ha. I had to make a scene in order to get him to wear the super cool glasses and it was worth it cause it ALMOST looked like Michael dressed up. Thank you honey, you are the cutest in these glasses. xo

And the kids arrive and the fun begins. Malt shop channel was playing, balloons were chased, kicked and thrown and girls (us moms) started gabbing. Whoo hoo!

Let us not forget the cutest girl there! Cora Grace was adorable. "Scarf" around her neck, pale pink shirt with hand layed rhinestone "C" on her chest, pink tutu from her birth photo shoot under her hand made poodle skirt, bracelet from Henny Penny and Socks from Grandma Jennie to complete the outfit. The happiness and smile are natural, no money can buy that. :)
My friend Linda in her homemade "poodle skirt". ha ha ha I loved it soo much!
Linda's little bean

As usual, content baby C.G. She's checking her hair in the side mirror.

Stacey giving what will be come the greatest attraction at the party... the Wagon rides! ha ha ha.

Linda's little man on his favorite toy (and others), the quad.

Evan is actually looking at a plane and completely tuning me out but I think the boy has a future in GQ modeling right? He and the wagon have been attached at the hip lately.

Evan and his all time friend "H" on the wagon ride of doom, let by Evan's running mommy. Whew! It was making me very hot but they loved it.

Elizabeth is one of my good friends, former babysitter and mother to "H". We were not only wearing the exact same shirt but the same shoes (different colors)! :D It was really fun and funny. Wait till you see what we're wearing to church sunday! ha ha ha, j/k.

Linda taking a turn at being a slave to wagon pulling. :)

"H" circled her 2 or 3 times, I lost count. snicker snicker snicker ;).

Elizabeth, Stacey and her son "S" enjoying the shade from our warm weather today.

Jessie helped me with C.G. and her daughter "C" didn't even seem to mind. Thanks Jessie!

On to the "Drive-in". The kids each had a box to decorate with their choice of flames on the side and headlights so they could all have their own "Hot Rod" like my dad had in the 50's. We watched Blues Clues while eating popcorn (as Mike got lunch ready). The kids were sooOOOO good! I was really happy to see them understand sitting in the boxes too and was especially happy that they all love popcorn! whoo hoo!

I failed to photograph the food but it was yummy. Hot Dogs wraped in crissant rolls then baked in the oven, hamburger 'sliders' and Rootbeer floats. (I forgot to make the fries but we didn't need them anyway)

Here is the back story on these pics. "C" is a couple months older than Evan and although very femanin (sp?) is as active and mobile as any boy I've ever seen! Anyway, when Evan was smaller and not walking, "C" had once jumped on his back while he was crawling and tried to ride him like a horse! :D She also layed his first kiss on him when he was maybe 7 or 8 months old which is really funny that she is like this cause her mom is pretty reserved and her dad seems pretty even keeled, lol but this Miss "C" is a charachter she is. So here she has chased after Evan his whole life but in this picture, she's climbed up the chair and Evan is below, jumping laughing at her that she is the coolest for doing this then goes up to her and randomly says with outstretched arms and fingers... "HUG!?" A question and a statement all in one of which you see her reply in body language... until....

... She can resist her prince charming no longer! ;) eek! so cute! (p.s. there was a point where she did in fact push her bare foot in his face to keep him back. ha ha ha)

Every good Sock Hop has a Pinata (let's just get this out of the way... there was no "sock hop" but anyone could dance at any time. ha ha ha)

Smart girl Ema! Little bean, you'll rot your tooth out! :)

Proud parents watching their future rock star. Now me thinks I know where the lost sunglasses belong... hmmm....

I am going to post a whole blog about this cake I made cause I am so proud of it! I really appreciate all the great feedback too. I think my friend Liz really didn't believe me that I made it. What a compliment! :)

It was so fun that this year he actually was able to try to blow candles out! We blow his windchime every night before bed for practice. :)

In the end there were hugs for everyone. Thank you all for making our party so fun and happy!

Buddies for Life x2!

After party rebellion. He took NO nap today despite falling asleep practically while I was getting him out of his party clothes.
Up from her nap and still soooo cute!

C.G. is a very good stander. I am only keeping her from falling but she stands very well.

The End. Thank you! ( i will still try to post video but it has been taking WAY too long lately )
