Pictures of the weeks

Here you go folks, the latest installment of (almost all our) family photos. There were some really really cute ones I took with Michael and Cora having Daddy - daughter time/conversation but, we'll say, the 'daddy' part didn't like how he was dressed so, he will work on that for the future. :) Otherwise the pictures are actually in opposite order of when they were taken the first you see were just taken today. the last one was taken the 15th of the month. Have fun. I'm excited to hear what you think....

one of these kids is too small but supposed to be in this new exersaucer. the other is moonlighting as his younger self...

mommy - son time. you're lucky i got THESE! ha ha ha ha.

a little mommy - daughter time. i couldn't pick a favorite, sorry.

smokey the dog

yes, she's still blond but here you can see her potential for being a brunette. ;)

Aladdin?

pshh... adorableness.

mom & evan LOVE his tunnel, it is one of the best 'toys' you can get your kids in my opinion.

Our Kitty Samantha

Samantha Stuteville
November 1997 - July 20, 2010

This is our outside cat, Samantha. We have had her since she was born in November 1997, a few months after we were married. Recently she had a horrible growth begin on her face that made her very sick and was making her deteriorate quickly. Today I had to leave the kids with Mike at his work and take her to the Vet to find out if any more can or should be done for her. I'm glad I didn't have to struggle with Evan or have both kids with me cause when they saw her, there was no question that she would have to be put to sleep so it's all we talked about and prepared for. I stayed with her through the painless and quick process, grateful she is not in pain. The staff was amazing to me from the second we started the appointment, each offering a sincere condolence on what we had to do, they were professional and compassionate and I'm grateful we go to our Vet (Dr. Brunner at Noah's Friends in Lascassas). I'm sorry to blog about such a sad and heavy topic but it is part of our life, hopefully you don't mind. She was unique and had a personality we loved:
She was born to a stray cat, Fathead, we adopted when we were first married in Nashville. We saw her at a day old with her 2 sisters, Stella and Sarah and only planned to keep she and Fathead but ended up with sweet Stella too (both have gone to heaven already). While in Nashville, she had one litter of fluffy peach kittens (we later took the the humane society for proper homes) that she literally tried to have on my lap in the living room! We had to force her to have the rest in the bathroom. She just wanted us to be near her. She was a good mommy kitty. A couple times she moved the babies in Michael's very small sock drawer even. Later, we moved to California for a few years and she and Stella got out of the moving truck and literally rolled in the dirt, they loved it! Some time through the years, she became obsessed with plastic grocery bags! :) She would climb inside and lick the bag. We could pick her up and carry her in it that way too. lol. We have many a pictures and video of this occurrence and I will never forget her for that. She had a crackly meow and talked to us often, we are grateful she was part of our family for so long. We are sad she was so sick in the end and hope she is loving heaven and being spry again. We love you Samantha, thank you for being part of our family. :) Thank you everyone else for listening. xoxo

Evans Best Friend

This is my friend and Liz's son "H". We go to church together, we live on the same street and she babysits Evan. "H", lights up when he see's Evan and allows his mom to help HIM take care of Evan for the day. lol. He is one of the most helpful and compassionate humans I've met and he's yet to become 2! Imagine the possibilities!? lol. Here he is with our dog Smokey, he loves him and it must be true love cause he is blissfully unaware of the fur ball he is collecting by sitting on the dog bed. I marvel at his control to not smother Smokey as most toddlers do when they are around our friendly fur son.
"H" saying "cheese". lol! And yes, that is my Christmas tree still up and still lit. Jealous? Actually, I just really haven't made the time to take it down and don't see anytime in the near furture that it's gonna happen either. I don't care if you don't. It's nice and "pretty". ;)
