Happy Halloween!

So, when my brother Jesse was little (like under 3?) his 'girlfriend' Lindsey's mom, made costumes for them to be Pebbles and Bam Bam. (if i get my hand on this photo, it will be posted) Ever since that time, I have always hoped I could do that for my baby so... I did! I made this 'skirt' from fleece and pulled some elastic through the waist and tied it in a knot. I made the 'sash?" from vinyl and the bone was a radius bone of a skeleton Halloween decoration. lol. I cut some black fleece triangle shapes for the 'skirt'. Thanks to Itasca Liddell in my ward who I bumped into at the fabric store while debating what to make him a club out of... (the one I bought at party city was just too heavy for Evan, he couldn't lift it. anyone need a caveman club? only $10.00!) I decided a fleece club would be the best bet. He loves it! It will become a 'stuffed animal' for him after. Hey! I just made a stuffed animal! (well, a stuffed 'inanimate object' that is) I'll have to add some eyes, nose and mouth to it later or something. lol. So anyway, one of his (MANY) girl friends at church, Annabelle, is a month older than him and has red hair so.... I made her a pebbles costume! It's awesome too, of course and I will post pictures of them together after they see each other at the trunk or treat tonight at church. Anyway, I hope you enjoy our pictures. (No, Mike and I aren't dressing up that I plan as it's been too busy to think about ourselves, maybe next year?)

"BAM BAM" trash can!

I could not believe I said "Bam Bam Bam" to Evan and he actually picked the 'club' up and started banging it around! It was so great, I picked up the camera immediately after and even capture a rare wave bye bye on one of the 2 videos I took! Now THAT's a 'treat'. he he he he he.

Walden Farms

Ok, so, we went to a local pumpkin patch/corn maze etc called Walden Farms today for the first time. We have only heard great things about it so off we went. It is really great and had tons of amenities BUT it was RAINING all the way there and for 10 or so minutes after we arrived so the whole ground was wet/muddy and I was instantly letting myself get in a bad mood. ;( (did i mention i just got home from vacation last night and need to get back in order still?) Michael tried to be very patient with my internal (and possible mini outward...) tantrum that the day wasn't' perfect for my little baby to get his pictures made with pumpkins etc. Still, I was able to capture a couple crumbs for you. :)... I totally recommend the Farm, don't get me wrong. If we can, I will even take Evan back Wednesday or Friday if the sun is out and time permits. For the locals, it's free to park and for many of the attractions but a minimal fee is required per person for things like a hayride etc. http://www.waldenfarm.biz/

The most fascinating part for Evan was this tree of course! The little monkey...

When the disappointment of the farm wore off, I decided to try again in the back yard with my ONE turning tree as a back drop. See it? :) It's the one that is gold rather than green. In the next week, I think we will see more colors in my back yard but everywhere else, they are definitely turning, IF ONLY I HAD TIME TO SEE THEM!! ;)

So the day ended in happiness and joy. How could it not with this ADORABLE CHILD!? (ignoring his current fits of periodic bone chilling screams!)

Gulf Shores Favorites

At the beginning of our trip, our sister in law broke out her microphone to serenade us. ;) We loved it.

that baby STILL fits in the sling that Ashley made me! He slept in it about 3 different times and still sits in it a bunch.

our S.I.L. Nanci on the Pier.

Mine and Evan's turn to be swept away by the windy pier!

Mine and Evan's first Ferris Wheel ride at "The Wharf" (which actually is no where near the beach as a 'wharf' should be).

holding on VERY tight. That is why I have not ripped the sunglasses off yet. LOL.

Showing Evan the sad reality of the circle of life regarding a washed up dead jelly fish. sorry little jelly fish.

sunset shot of Michael and that crazy little baby

i do NOT like the sand mom. well... maybe if you were to let me put it in my mouth...

Single most favorite shot that I took on vacation. :) I know, it was hard to choose...

I think my sister Katrina will not only appreciate that I got a new bathing suit (which is super cute!) but that I am willing to have a photo of it posted. There is a triumph here. :) lol

Mike posing with the babe

The girls, braving the waves. Seriously. Only the first and second days were kinda calm weather. This was the 3rd day and the waves were CRAZY and a little scary. We supported each other and had a GREAT time. Matt came in too and to ALL of our SHOCK, Michael not only came in but he took his shirt off! WHOO HOO! There are no photos of this as we were all in the water together but I saw my mother in law taking a few blackmails. Not to worry, we may have some of her if she chooses to make them public with out our knowledge. :D lol....

Evan's first time on one of these while shopping at the local mall.

New best friend. ;) lol

1st time on a carosel! lol. He loved it.

the little kids. ;)

Daddy is so crazy!

Little Lauren and the VERY windy night!

View from our condo on the 4th floor. Evan was not allowed in this room till today when we were leaving. It just gave me a bad feeling for him.

Evan loves both of his Tennessee cousins but Brooke is especially attentive to him. You can see it all in this photo, it speaks to their bond. Oh, and look at my big boy in his new car seat and FACING FORWARD!!!?? I love this little guy that made me want to pull my hair out with all his SHRILL screaming throughout the car ride and week. oy vey!. ;)

till next year?.... we'll see...

happy halloween from our fence....

Believe it or not, these are pictures of knots in my backyard fence. They are awesome and I have captured the one with yellow eyes before but this time I photographed more and found others I had not seen before. I plan on getting them printed in 8 x 10's to hang up every halloween. ;)

1st Day in Gulf Shores

5 more days to go... stay tuned. ;)
