Our trip to California (mostly).

We were in California December 7-14th to participate in my niece Nathalie's wedding. She is the oldest of 20 1/2 grandchildren and when I heard she was planning to get married I volunteered to do her hair and make-up. It was my pleasure to help her and although I did her H & M, she is naturally beautiful.

Our family's adventure started with Cora's first airplane ride. Michael vows to never fly with small children again. I vow to get Michael medication next time so he won't worry about it so much. ;)

I took a similar picture of Evan when he was 7? months old so I HAD to take it of C.G. too. Too close to call as to who's turned out more adorable. It was the first thing I did when I walked in the door at my parents house.

Birthday twin Juliet and her 3 older siblings all came bounding in for a mini reunion and baby comparison. The are both pretty cute, don't you think??

First of MANY many trips to the trampoline with cousin Liam who is 9 months older than Evan. Liam and his parents live at my parents so he's always available for a play date. Whoop! (Mike and C.G. are in the background, cheering them on)

The first morning. "Someone" was happier than the other to be awake, can you guess who? My favorites are where she's pulling Evan's shirt and also where she looks to be trying to tickle his feet. :)

So as most of you know, Juliet and Cora Grace are cousins, both born in California, different cities but only 4 hours separate their age of 6 months 2 weeks old. At 7 days old, they met and took their first photo shoot so it was only appropriate that at 6 months and 7 days, we do another! :) (Jen don't hold your breath for a 1 year and 7 days photo shoot, unless of course, you are coming here! ha ha ha). It's fun to see how far much they've grown! *sigh*

Then of course a few of C.G. by herself. (trust me, this is not all of them)

In 'down time' (what's that!? Mike's foot was hurt so he was in real pain and I was constantly chasing, changing, putting to sleep, feeding, waking up etc the kids. This was no 'relaxing' vacation.) we watched "Yo" or something else on Sprout PBS or Nick Jr. (my older sister Katrina and her daughter Amber are in background). Cora sat with my sister Ashley, entertaining her with her cuteness. Then Evan dominated a ginger bread house. lol.
My sister Carlyn who was my only sibling (besides my bro Isaac who's on a mission in TX) who hadn't met Cora yet. She loved her... as predicted. :)

On another day we took some time for ourselves and went to the local Mall. It had a water fountain and although we didn't come and plan to participate in the water fall, you can see that Evan did and LOVED every minute of it. (it was high 70's that day) Thankfully Old Navy was one store down so I bought him so new pants afterwards. ha ha ha! It was well worth it.

On to the main event: Nathalie's Wedding! She and her husband Austin were married in the Los Angeles Temple (so were we, 13 years ago!). These are pictures of us waiting for them to come out the back doors as is tradition. Ahh.

My niece Adelle, adjusting her accessories. ;)

This was the cutest thing! Grandma Karla or as I have been trying to get my kids to call her, "Putsie" (childhood nick name), was sitting on a curb with a hand full of her grandchildren, entertaining them. Specifically, she was teaching young Luke the expertise of how to gurgle water. I am so glad my camera caught this! xo Mom.

Look at this little loiterer, my nephew Stewart. Adorable! 2nd cutest brown eyes I've ever seen. (Evan being 1st, Mike is now in 3rd, sorry honey but I think you understand, ha ha ha)

My pretty sister Jenalyn. Can you believe she's NINE months pregnant by this picture? I didn't think so. Baby boy Reese will be here soon to be Liam's little brother. I wonder if his cheeks will weigh him down too? ;) he he he. Below this is Jenalyn with her husband Darren, she felt miserable with pregnancy and chasing an almost 3 year old. It doesn't show.

The Riff Raff... My sister Ashley and her boyfriend Kimball, my bro Jesse's profile. Then we have my SIL Kelli, newly skinny brother Vincent, my SIL Lael's back and my niece Colby's head over Lael's shoulder.
Bffff cousins, Lincoln and Jace who are always attached at the hip. Ashley, Cora and my bro Wade.
3 generations of Wutkee: Jesse, Stewart and my dad Allan.
My own moment with Cora Grace. She is soOO cute!

The crowd waiting (it was actually MUCH bigger than this but this is what you get from my angle). My oldest brother Carl is in the tux center. I love that I got this shot cause it shows how proud and excited he is to watch his daughter come out to bask in the glow of the celebration waiting for her. <3 (my niece Shain in pink v-neck, a SIL, Lisa is behind her in teal and red hair)

Announcing...
Austin and Nathalie Dixon!
12.11.10
(they didn't even plan that. cool huh!?)

This is all the pictures blogger would allow me to have on my blog. I may have to start a new one cause I sure as heck am not 'buying' more space. (well, we'll see I guess) I had some more documenting of the visit but I have to work out the space issue.

Been Out Of Town...

We sure do! :) For the past week, we have been in California celebrating my oldest niece's (1st of 20 1/2 grandchildren) wedding. Upon returning last night, our pet sitter left us a few notes. Apparently "We LOVe JonEs" is all he could spell out with Evan's magnetic letters but we got the point. :) Thank you Jones for watching our pets and for the commentary on our grocerie list below... :)

A couple days ago, we were in this weather, 82 degrees, tank topped toddler on a trampoline.
This morning we were playing on snowy side yards and sipping cocoa. :)

blogging of california trip to come but it may not be till next week. i had horrible internet coverage while there so you only got snipets from my phone. so sorry. :)

A new bouncer in town!

SNOW!

We woke up this morning much to our surprise to SNOW!! ;) Evan had been up for 'awhile' so as soon as I saw the snow, I ran towards Evans room, calling to Michael to throw me some going outside clothes as I busted into Evan's room yelling, IT'S SNOWING! :) I threw the first clothes I could on him and slipped my camera over my shoulder as I dressed myself going towards the back yard. Evan didn't know what was happening but he liked it cause it involved going 'outside'. ha ha ha. So here you go. After awhile I repeated the process for Cora only I pretty much woke her up, slapped a huge jacket on her and Evan's old hat and let her experience her first snow. She was too sleepy to really appreciate it but Evan loved it. Mommy loves snow too. I'm a Californian, so sue me. xo

It's SNOWING!!!! :)

pictures to hopefully follow later...

6 Month C.G.

Today is Cora's 6 month birthday. Here are some shots from this morning that only got posted now! Life will NOT slow down! I have a full night ahead of me too (yet I blogged 3 times today? ha ha ha). I hope you enjoyed Cora's pictures. Here are some of her happenings:
Last week I weighed her for my sister in law who is making her blessing dress. She weighed 15 pounds from my calculations (which means it could be wrong. lol). I'm looking forward to see if she's moved up from 5% on height cause she seems to have burst in height.

loves her exersaucer

sucks on anything near her mouth

has been chewing on her hands and drooling like mad since 2 mo but there is no sign of teeth... yet.

ALWAYS happy!

content

loves to watch and laugh and giggle at Evan no matter what he does

now buries her head into her hands or burp cloth when she's tired, rubbing her eyes. cute!

barely cries

still so gushy everywhere, we love it

reaches for anything and everything.

has a smile for everyone

wants to see all that is going on

doesn't like to be cradled (she might miss something. wink)

loves tummy time but rolls over quickly

loves rattles and crinkly papers

That's MY son...

Enjoying a delicious bowl of air popped popcorn with real butter melted all over and vegit sprinkled on it. Mmmm. Oh don't think that's anything but my beloved ovaltine in his sippy cup. :) we're staying up 'late' watching 'The Snowman' DVD, one of my very favorite as well. :)

LOVE STINKS!

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

So, Mike and I went to the Predators game last night (of which they WON!!) and Evan's friend Serif wanted he and Cora to come to play while we were out. Little did I know the reeeeeeeaaaal reason Serif's parents wanted to babysit. They Tattooed him! :D LOL. I literally JUST saw this even though we picked him up last night but he was already in p.j.s so... This morning I was holding him but had to put him down to make some breakfast when I saw the top of the sword. Only, I thought, "does he have a leaf on him?" or "Is that some sort of leach!?" ( i don't know why i went there but i did, ha ha ha!) As soon as I looked (carefully) down his shirt I instantly started busting out laughing!!!! I had Evan run in to show daddy while he was getting ready for work and he also loved it. :). Michelle and Jeff, that was the best surprise this morning, I'm still giggling and laughing as a type. I haven't checked Cora yet but did a photo shoot for her 6 month and didn't see anything. THAT would have been even more hilarious! :) Thank you for making my day. ha ha  ha ha ha ha... he he he he he he.....
(the tattoo says "love stinks". 'someone' didn't want me to take their picture right then. If i have time i'll take a better one later :))

Yes, I am 'that' mom...

That let her kid go play in the freezing cold rain. He was begging and he's so cute... I couldn't say no. If it makes you feel better, I made sure he took a really good warm bath after coming in. He LOVED it! Only when I told him he could have a sucker, did he come in the house. It's my first use of bribary to get him to do something. So far, he's only had about 5 in his life and I hope not too many more in excess.
