Blankets

I've had a request to post this from my mom who is coveting my gift! Seriously, Lael, make the woman a Piggy Cow blanket! lol.
So, for Christmas in our Wutkee family, the adults rotate families to get a $25.00 gift for and this year we recieved from Vince and Lael's family. (i think they spent over $25 ;) so now I don't feel bad for Evan spending over $5.00 for their son Lincoln). In my family, we have many "Wutkeeisms" you might call them. This blanket resembles one of them, "Piggy Cow". "Piggy Cow", if I recall correctly (family, feel free to elaborate in comments), is a term we used to describe one of our siblings having a tantrum or fit, ie: "Don't have a 'Piggy Cow' Bennett!" Annnnnyway, Lael makes quilts for special occations and we were blessed with a "Piggy Cow" blanket with multiple frames of cows and pigs in all their varieties. It was hard to pick my favorite ones but they are displayed below. The back is in orange I am assuming in honor of the great University of Tennessee (probably Vince's only real contribution to the 'crafting' of the gift. lol), or at least, we like to think so. So, even though your thank you card is in the mail... THANK YOU for our gifts!
(lael, if you are reading this, if you'll notice, the quilt you made for our wedding gift almost 12 years ago is benieth our new quilt and I use it as extra insulation in our recent cold snaps.)

My favorite Cow and Pig sections...

Evan's custom baby blanket gift in yellow, blue, red and duck. lol. Do you think he likes it? he he.

family blanketness.
I just love homemade gifts, given and recieved. We will enjoy these for many years to come and might even take our P.C. one on California vacations to make everyone feel jealous. Thank you for sending us a little piece of home so we can feel like everyone remembers who we are all the way out here in Tennessee. ;) xoxo

Seriously, I know it's Christmas but I just have to tell you I just finished watching the best movie (well, a really good one), and I want to encourage you to give it a try to. I'm sure you can get it through "Netflix" or "Blockbuster" online so do it!
It is "You Can't Take It with You" a 'romantic' comedy with Jimmy Stewart and Lionel Barrymore (yes they are in It's a Wonderful Life together too) from 1938.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0030993/fullcredits#cast . It is a beautiful protrayal of living life. I'll tell you, I laughed out loud multiple times and even shed some tears to tell the truth. Though it isn't hard for me to be emotional one way or another. ;) I'd love to hear that you've seen it or will rent it and tell me what you thought of it. ok, good night. Tomorrow I will blog about Evan's first Christmas! xoxo!

Boo boo's ;(...

Evan had his first round of shots with Dr. Coleman at his 2 month check up. He also was weighed today at 10lb 7oz! He is now 23 3/4in long at 2 months old. Apparently this places him in the 50 %tile catagory? He's such a trooper, he really did well dispite being a little fussy the rest of the day for Rachel. After we picked him up, he must have gotten it out of his system cause he was happy and tired. I decided to give him a little tylenol cause the leg with 2 shots was really swollen and I wanted it to help the inflamation. It did! I even massaged his little thighs and he had no reaction, whew! Apparently we'll go through this again, next time.
Please excuse his panty line in the pictures, he's really embarrassed about it. ;) lol

He cried during the injection but with a couple shushes, he calmed down so daddy sealed that it was ok with a sweet kiss. Thanks dad! Afterwards we took him for ice cream... ;) lol j/k... but in the future, he'll probably get a high five or slobbery kiss, (just what all little boys want).

2 Months Old!?!

So here's what I'm like at 2 months old...
During the day, I eat every 3 hours or so, drinking 4 oz of formula (fyi: breastfeeding didn't happen, I'll explain someday in another post) but am about to start wanting more I think. I occasionally drink pear juice too and like it a lot. I don't burp as consistently as I used to but now spit up a little every couple feedings. I don't cry unless it's time to eat, sleep or change my diaper. My Newborn clothes are not fitting or are pretty tight but I'm finally definitely in 0-3mo and sometimes 3-6mo clothes now, depending on the maker (but am still in Newborn diapers). I have slept every night for 8 hours at least (10 the other night) for over a week now! My parents hope it stays that way of course. Recently, I started smiling a lot, even sort of giggling a little but also blowing bubbles through my lips AND I've found my tongue, it's an amazing thing. Consequently, it means I drool and lick things a lot but again, mom and dad think it's cute. Something else that is new is that I go to a babysitters house, 3 days a week. Rachel Arnold and Liz Jones are sooooo nice to me and their kids are very enthusiastic about me coming over. It doesn't hurt that I get cuter every day and that I'm such a good natured baby, so naturally, they want to be near me. In these pictures I'm wearing the latest in micro fleece Alligator sleepers from where else, "Crazy 8". I love it actually. Even though I'm known as 'a little heater' I have been keeping surprisingly even temperatures in it. I got lots of attention at the Stones River Mall on Saturday when I wore it while we went window shopping. I actually slept in the Baby Bjorn the whole time but mom told me I was a hit. ;)
I am getting a LITTLE bit chubbier though, I can tell you exactly after my Dr's appointment tomorrow morning. When I was 2 1/2 weeks, I weighed 7lb 8oz (from 6lb 6oz at birth)! Mom's guessing I'm over 9 pounds now, we'll see. So... enjoy my pictures and video until the next time mom posts but she's gotta write thank you notes/announcements/Christmas cards first so be patient! See ya!
